Mediation is a viable dispute resolution option when child welfare social workers and other people who are responsible for the child disagree about the child’s safety, wellbeing and plan of care.
Mediators on the British Columbia Child Protection Mediation Program (CPMP) Roster mediate child protection matters pursuant to section 22 of the Child, Family and Community Service Act (CFCSA).
Families and advocates can also contact our Child Protection Navigator Program at 1-877-899-2468 (toll free) or navigator@mediatebc.com for support. The Navigator can guide racialized families to meaningfully participate in collaborative decision-making processes.
