Apply to the Small Claims Practicum

Note: This practicum program is under review and may not be offered again. Any approved applications will be placed on a wait list in order they are received, and applicants will be notified if another class is offered. However, you may also want to consider other opportunities to gain experience as we cannot offer any assurance that we will be offering this practicum again..

Applicants must have completed at least five days of interest-based mediation training (typically 40 hours in total), including at least 10 hours of role-playing experience. Two or more courses that provide successive levels of training are acceptable to meet the minimum training requirements; two introductory level courses combined are not acceptable. The Program Manager has the ultimate discretion to determine whether an applicant's training meets the qualification requirements.

If we are going to hold another class and you are interested in participating, please take the following steps:

1. Complete and mail in the application form.

2. If your application is approved, you will be placed on the waiting list in order of the date your application is received.

3. If we are going to hold another class, we will confirm the orientation dates and offers will be made to qualified applicants on the waiting list. Applicants will have 15 days from the date of offer to confirm their place in the class with a deposit.
