A Wine by Any Other Name: a tasting of 3 collaboration themed wines

Posted by mbcstaff

Join us on March 29, 2023 at 6:30pm PDT for a tasting of 3 wines (covering white, rosé and red wines) fitting our collaboration theme!

RRMs Ashley Syer and Lori Charvat will lead us through a fun, engaging and interactive evening via Zoom. Households may choose to purchase any or all of the wines from BC Liquor Stores or private stores in order to follow along with Lori and Ashley. The session will be informative and fun whether or not you are tasting all 3!

Say no more - I'm in!

The Wines

White: Havoc and Harmony Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough NZ  https://www.bcliquorstores.com/product/590117

Rosé: Bread and Butter, US  https://www.bcliquorstores.com/product/177100

Red: Mas de Sainte Croix Tendresse d'un Climat, Côtes-Du-Rhône Villages, FR  https://www.bcliquorstores.com/product/253110

The Hosts

Lori Charvat is a Mediate BC Roster Mediator and past Board Chair. When not mediating or coaching, Lori finds a creative outlet in the kitchen, cooking without a recipe. Wine is another passion. Lori completed the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level Two Certification in wine and continues to develop her knowledge of wine as both art and craft. Lori’s favourite varietals of late are Syrah and Viognier (the “Rhone grapes”), but she also loves a big California Zinfandel when the weather turns cold. Of course, BC Wines are always in Lori’s cellar. If you join us for the wine tasting, Lori will share her current BC favourites and more.

Ashley Syer is a Mediate BC Roster Mediator and current Board member. She runs her own law and mediation practices through Syer Law and Gastown Mediation, respectively, and self-describes as a woman who wears many hats. When the work hats are off, Ashley can often be found somewhere with good food and a glass of wine in her hand, frequently in her own kitchen. (She loves to host, and like Lori, is a fan of the no-recipe recipe!) Having grown up steps from the famed Naramata Bench in Penticton, Ashley is convinced that she is at least one part wine, through proximity to vineyards alone. Ashley is an ABC gal – “Anything But Chardonnay”! Unless it’s Champagne, of course… every rule has an exception! She loves to support small Okanagan wineries whenever she can, and will be glad to share a few favourites with you.

The Fee

$15+GST/household, regardless of the number of viewers sharing a screen. Please note that the total fee of $15.75 is via PayPal (plus any additional charges that the platform charges) or e-transfer to finance@mediatebc.com (enter the first & last name of the registrant and “Wine Tasting 2023” in the notes section) and non-refundable.

We encourage you to have snacks and tasty bites ready to enjoy with the wines. It will be dinner time after all and based on past experience, our community really likes knowing what everyone is pairing with their drinks!
