I am a lawyer, writer and educator, called to the bar in May, 1988. Prior to law school, I spent ten years working in the field of early childhood education, including teaching child development and psychology. I am committed to assisting couples in reaching private settlements at the end of their relationships, and to helping parents resolve matters in a way that best meets their children's needs.
I am passionate about helping people respectfully resolve their disputes. As a lawyer mediator I help parties through resolution and then draft a Separation Agreement for them.

As a family law practitioner, I limit my practice to collaborative law and mediation (Law Society Certified). I teach and train advanced dispute resolution courses. I have been an adjunct professor at both the University of British Columbia Law School and am a continuing adjunct professor in the LLM for Dispute Resolution program at Hong Kong University.

I have written numerous articles on Collaborative Practice and Dispute Resolution, as well as a book: Collaborative Practice: Deepening the Dialogue. I received my Queens Counsel Designation in 2005, have been named to the peer-reviewed Best Lawyers in Canada (in the field of Alternate Dispute Resolution) since 2012, and named Best ADR Professional, Vancouver, 2014. In 2019 I received the Law Society Excellence in Family Law Award.
