I believe that the vast majority of family law issues are best addressed outside of court. My practice is entirely focused on helping clients to reach agreements through non-adversarial processes such as mediation, negotiation, and the Collaborative Process. I work with families who are going through transitions (such as a separation or a divorce), with the goal of helping them to achieve sensible, lasting, and cost-effective solutions that will minimize conflict, focus on the well-being of children, and ensure that everyone is treated fairly.

I have been an active volunteer with the Rise Women’s Legal Centre and Access Pro Bono for many years, and I also volunteer as a pro bono mediator through Access Pro Bono's Virtual Family Law Mediation Project.

In my spare time, you will find me spending time with my partner and two young children, riding my bike, and playing soccer on my rapidly aging by enthusiastic team!

My standard hourly rate is $300/hr; however, I offer reduced rates on a sliding scale basis in an effort to make mediation accessible to as many families as possible. My reduced rates are determined on a case by case basis after taking into consideration both parties' financial circumstances, including incomes and assets. At present, the lowest reduced rate I offer is $83.90/hr based on the Legal Aid BC tariff.

If a mediation is cancelled, I do not charge a cancellation fee but I do charge for any time that I have put in up to the time of cancellation (for example, pre-mediation meetings with parties, review of documents in preparation for mediation, etc.). If the cancellation is by mutual agreement of all parties, the cost for the time incurred up to the time of cancellation will be split equally between all parties. If the cancellation is the result of a unilateral decision by one party, the party who made the unilateral decision to cancel will be responsible for 100% of the costs up to the time of cancellation.
