I am a mediator and arbitrator based in Vancouver and Victoria. I was called to the Bar in 1986, commenced my mediation and arbitration practice in 1998, and was appointed Queens’ Counsel in 2006. I mediate in a number of areas, including construction and business disputes, personal injury claims, wills and estates, and insurance, and am a Chartered Mediator of the ADR Institute of Canada. I have written and lectured extensively in the fields of construction and commercial litigation and alternate dispute resolution, and taught Mediation Advocacy as an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia Faculty of Law. I have also served as President of Mediate BC, assisted the Dispute Resolution Office of the Ministry of the Attorney General with the development of the Small Claims Court Pilot, and acted as a mentor for the Child Protection Mediation Program. Since 2003 I have provided negotiation training and consulting to clients internationally with ENS International, a global consulting network based in Sydney, Australia. I currently teach The Fundamentals of Mediation course annually for the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC.
