2010
My extensive experience as a senior health care administrator, university and college instructor, and public speaker have supported my coaching, facilitation, and mediation work. As an instructor of conflict resolution and communications courses, I bring a solid academic understanding of theory as well as practice to my work. I have lived in northern BC for more than 40 years, and have worked extensively in both large and small communities across the region.
I use a supportive, transformational approach to identify, assess, and develop communication skills with individuals and teams. I understand large organizations, complex structures, and the processes of a unionized workplace. I help individuals and groups ensure their communication is clear and balanced, based in interests rather than positions. I work to get at the real issues behind workplace conflict.

My mediation style is professional, friendly, transparent, and always respectful. I take a common-sense, collaborative approach to understanding and communicating complex issues. I have been working in dispute resolution and communications development for more than 10 years. I believe that safe workplaces can be created and maintained by building and using communication skills and strategies effectively. I believe that relationships are at the heart of workplace conflict, which means relationships are at the heart of a healthy and stronger workplace. With support, people and organizations can identify and analyze the real issues behind workplace conflict, and make sustainable changes to their organization and culture to support people and productivity.

I teach six courses with the Justice Institute of BC, and 3 courses for the College of New Caledonia in the areas of communication, negotiation and mediation, conflict resolution, leadership, and management skills.
