Remembering Doug Fenton

Posted by Ann.Lee

It is with great sadness that we share the news of Doug Fenton’s passing.

Mediators in our community will remember Doug for his generosity in sharing his experience and learning, as well as inviting others to co-mediate with him to get practical experience. He mediated both in BC and Washington State, particularly through the Whatcom Dispute Resolution Centre, and was named their 2020 Family Mediation Program Outstanding Volunteer. He mediated in civil and family contexts, and often handled complex matters with great empathy. He has helped many clients with his skills, knowledge, humour and professionalism.

To many new mediators, Doug was a supportive mentor. Those who had the privilege to co-mediate with him will long remember his ability to find common purpose in difficult situations.

Doug passed on April 25, 2021 and his obituary is available here. We wish the whole family our best and will keep them in our thoughts.

Thank you, Doug, for your many contributions to the community!
