Reimagining Space(s): Conflict Resolution Conference 2022
Posted by mbcstaff
Continuing Legal Education Society of BC (CLEBC), Mediate BC, and CoRe Conflict Resolution Society are co-presenting a one-day conflict resolution conference on October 27th, 2022.
The overarching conference theme is “Reimagining Space(s)” and will include both invited speakers and opportunities for presentations from conflict resolution professionals from around the world.
CALL FOR PROPOSALS
Time is set aside in the conference schedule for short presentations of 6 or 29 minutes. We encourage mediators, arbitrators, lawyers, academics, and others involved in the practice of conflict resolution to share their ideas in one of these short sessions. All sessions will be presented online, so speakers can be located anywhere they have adequate bandwidth.
What interesting idea about conflict resolution and/or reimagining space(s) would you like to share?
Topics should be relevant to the field of Conflict Resolution and connect to the conference theme.
Some ideas to stimulate your creativity include:
-
The role of physical space in mediation including designing collaborative space, outdoor mediations, accessible space
-
Creating inclusive spaces in conflict resolution processes
-
Conflicts in space
-
Workspaces after covid (Note: The conference takes place on “Cranky Co-workers Day”)
-
Virtual spaces and conflict resolution
-
Holding space for dialogue versus taking up space
-
Breathing space: trauma informed conflict resolution practice
-
New spaces in the field of conflict resolution
Conference date: October 27, 2022
Proposal deadline: September 15, 2022
Site specific proposals: If you have an idea for a presentation that must be site specific in Vancouver, please contact the co-chairs at coreclinic1@gmail.com to discuss possibilities. Where possible, we will consider presentations and events that are tied to specific spaces.
