Looking for help and information to solve your dispute? There are plenty and websites and organizations offering their services in BC. This list of resources is specifically curated for issues related to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention Centre of BC - Barrier-free, non-judgemental, confidential support through 24/7 phone lines and online services. 

Kids Help Phone -  a counselling, referral and support service for children and youth under the age of 20 years old.

1-888-COVID19 - Non-medical information about COVID-19 offered by the BC Centre for Disease Control. Available 7:30am-8pm, 7 days a week

IMAlive -  Suicide intervention, prevention, awareness and education.

Sometimes the hardest part of mediation is convincing the other person in your conflict to give it a try. For that reason, we've provided this simple template for starting the conversation about trying mediation. It's based on suggestions given by Vancouver-based mediator, Darrin Hotte.

    LandlordBC is pleased to offer you access to a unique program that provides landlords and tenants in BC additional options for dispute resolution. 
  • COVID-19 Legal Resources for British Columbians
    Clicklaw provides a directory of online resources dealing with the ways Covid19 public health directives are affecting people's lives.
  • MyLawBC: Family Resolution Centre 
    An innovative online platform that helps parents create a parenting plan that’s in the best interest of their child or children. The parents can negotiate together online, and they can ask for the help of a professional mediator, at no cost to the parents. Once they agree on every issue, they can download their parenting plan for them both to sign.
  • Family Justice Centres
    These government-run centres across BC provide services to British Columbians going through separation or divorce. They provide short-term counselling, mediation, emergency and community referrals and other free services.
  • Access Pro Bono 
    Free legal advice and representation to individuals and non-profit organizations in BC that meet its requirements.
  • Lawyer Referral Service 
    Offered by Access Pro Bono, this service will arrange a 30-minute consultation with a lawyer for FREE. There is no obligation to retain the lawyer after the 30 minutes is over, and any additional time and fees are arranged between you and the lawyer. 
  • BC Family Unbundling Roster 
    A list of family lawyers willing to provide unbundled legal services (also known as limited scope retainers). A more affordable way to hire a lawyer.
  • Unbundled Legal Services
    Legal help to fit your needs and budget.
  • Legal Services Society 
    The organization that provides legal aid, including free or low-cost legal advice and representation, in BC.
  • Seniors First BC 
    A provincial non-profit charity serving older adults age 55+ in BC. They provide free legal services to older adults unable to access legal help due to low income or other barriers. They also offer free legal consultations for older adults at select locations in Metro Vancouver once a month by appointment.
