WorkSafe BC Returning to Safe Operation for Mediators
Posted by Ann.Lee
WorkSafe BC has published a general Guide for reducing the risks of COVID-19 (pdf) and other information for employers, as well as protocols for office spaces. For those who are looking at restarting in-person mediations, it is worthwhile having a look at the protocols of in-person counselling and protocols of health professionals to see what other considerations should be taken into account.
Note the Public Health Officer's May 14, 2020 order regarding posting a COVID-19 Safety Plan, in which Dr. Bonnie Henry ordered that all employers must:
1. post a copy of your COVID-19 Safety Plan on your website, if you have one, and at your workplace so that it is readily available for review by workers, other persons who may attend at the workplace to provide services and members of the public;
2. provide a copy of your COVID-19 Safety Plan to a health officer or a WorkSafeBC officer, on request.
The COVID-19 Safety Plan (pdf) tool can guide you through a six-step process to create your plan.
