Family Roster Mediator Details

2010

  • I am able to provide legal information on the Family Law Act.

  • At the conclusion of the mediation I am able to draft your separation agreement.

  • If you are represented I have extensive experience communicating with counsel.

  • I make referrals to other professionals such as divorce coaches, child specialists and financial specialists if I feel their inclusion in the mediation process will promote settlement.

  • I offer the option of a private, spacious and comfortable environment for mediations.

  • I am also available to do both workplace mediations and investigations.
I am accredited family law mediator and experienced collaborative family lawyer whose practice focuses on out of court resolution to family disputes. As a former member of the Advisory Group to the Ministry of the Attorney General on the Family Law Act, I am a strong proponent of the measures this legislation took to prefer out of court settlement and create a legal environment where collaboration in family disputes would be fostered and the “best interests of the child” held to the highest importance.

Having earned a Master of Education prior to attending law school, I approach mediation and collaborative family law practice from an educative perspective, assisting my clients to learn to communicate constructively during one of the most stressful times in their lives.

I am both a Family Roster Mediator with Mediate BC and a Collaborative Family Lawyer with the British Columbia Collaborative Roster Society.

In addition to my family law mediation and collaborative law practice I have also conducted workplace investigations for post secondary institutions assessing human rights and harassment complaints and, acted as legal counsel in over 150 hearings for First Nation's claimants who suffered abuse while attending Indian Residential School.
