Family Roster Mediator Details

2016
I have considerable experience working with high conflict multi-party disputes, families who own businesses, and families that have a number of socio economic barriers, and disabilities. Our mediation facilities can support small-large party mediations, and is very accessible.
Raised in Northeastern Alberta and British Columbia, I have an appreciation for the complexity of living in isolated communities, dependent on natural resource development. The people that live and work here are creative, tenacious and resilient. I believe I have brought these qualities into my mediation practice here in Fort St John. I am a business owner and a conflict specialist. The experiences I have gained working within the resource industry and government are put into practice in my work with families and business owners.

I have considerable experience mediating complex and high conflict family conflict. Here in the north east families face multiple and diverse challenges. In recognition of this, I have been a mediator with the Northern Navigator program since its inception. This program is unique in that fees are set based on income, with the intention to provide accessible services to everyone.

I have also been focused on work place and industry conflict resolution for the past 3 years. Through my work with government and with industry, I see the value of genuine and transparent public engagement. My practice has grown to include multi-party facilitation, conflict coaching, and public engagement.

Family mediation fees are set using a sliding scale set by the Northern Navigator pilot project. The fees are determined based on income and will be assessed prior to entering into an agreement to mediate. An additional 10% off is provided to parties that have not yet filed in court.
We understand that life is complicated and especially so during times of conflict. Mediations cancelled up to 48 hours before the scheduled mediation are subject to no cancelation fees and can be re-scheduled. Mediations cancelled within 48 hours of a mediation for non-emergencies are subject to an 80.00 cancelation fee. Situations considered as emergencies include acute medical concerns, a death in the family, and extreme weather events.
