Family Roster Mediator Details

2013
I am highly-skilled at working with people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds. I specialize in interest-based mediation and I facilitate in a way that promotes a collaborative agreement. I offer a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
I have always been curious about understanding the dynamics around conflict. I started my training at Langara College by completing a Peace and Conflict Associates Degree, then furthered my studies at the University of B.C., where I earned my Bachelors Degree in International Relations. In order to pursue my passion in mediation, I have completed over 500 hours in Conflict Mediation and Negotiation Training from the Justice Institute of British Columbia and have attained my Family Mediation Certification. In accordance with the BC Family Law Act Regulations for family mediators, I am certified as a Comprehensive Family Mediator with Family Mediation Canada (the "Comprehensive" designation requires additional training in division of assets and other financial aspects of separation).

I have a passion and a gift to help families resolve disputes in order to move forward in life. I am able to gain people’s trust and create an environment that helps people feel comfortable to share their lives. I am empathetic and am able to help families with their individual needs. I have a unique and personal style of relating with people that helps create an environment where my clients want to engage and work through issues. I have a positive disposition that assists those around me to be more confident. I strongly believe that deep-down my clients know what is best for their situation, and as a result I work hard to create open-ended and flexible settings that always benefit the clients. I become only as assertive as needed; specializing in guiding and facilitating so that the end result is a successful removal of barriers.
