Family Roster Mediator Details

2009
Since 2006 I have been helping others find practical strategies and creative options as they transition through major life changes.

My practice is built on my diverse training in mediation, coaching, education and family mental health. I am a certified BC Provincial and Parent Education Instructor, with a degree in Adult Education. My skills and background in health and social services can help you to make sense of the confusion, stress and overwhelm that often follow in the wake of a separation. With support, it's easier to simplify next steps, take care of family business and move forward with restructuring family life.

As a passionate family educator, I’m committed to the value of building more connection between parents and their children. I can provide relevant information to educate parents on supportive, age appropriate ways to help their kids cope with separation and divorce. Mediation can provide a very effective “neutral zone” to deal with parent-teen conflict.

My specialized training and experience in youth issues, substance use and family violence, serve well in dealing with complex family relationships. I support Foundry Centres, as a contracted Family Services Project Developer, helping to identify and implement family/caregiver services, support and engagement strategies.

I sincerely respect families in all their diversity.
As a Comprehensive Family Mediator, I understand the importance of 'plain language' education and knowledge when making difficult decisions. I’m flexible and encourage you to voice what you think works best for your family situation.

To help navigate through the mediation process, worksheets, handouts and community support services are readily shared if needed. With specialized software, I can easily show you detailed considerations on issues around child support, extracurricular activities and spousal support, including tax implications. The goal is to reach a fair, workable family agreement.

I received a Certificate in Conflict Resolution: Family Mediation through the Justice Institute of BC. My clinical field training was completed with Mediate BC. I am both a provincially (Mediate BC) and nationally certified (Family Mediation Canada) family mediator and a designated Family Dispute Resolution Professional under the new Family Law Act in BC.

For me the reward of mediation is not only providing an alternative process to court, but also the opportunity to foster a sense of hope as you transition and move forward. Please visit my website to learn more about my work.
