The foundation of my mediation practice is based on 20 years of counselling. I have a Masters Degree in Conflict Resolution and Mediation. I teach mediation and conflict resolution courses for The Justice Institute of B.C. and Vancouver Island University. Since opening my private practice in 1993, I have focused on family issues such as: divorce, custody and access and parenting agreements, division of assets in divorce, parent/teen issues, issues of parents and adult children, grandparent access, parents and adult children with brain injuries with social worker and/or psychologist support, child protection issues, issues between adult siblings, and marital mediation for couples choosing to work on marriage issues. A guiding principle for my mediation style is the belief that individuals have self determination. This means that the people with the conflict are the experts in the solution. As a mediator, my goal is to facilitate the communication process so parties can reach a mutually agreeable resolution.
