Family Roster Mediator Details

2009
Previously, I have worked as a child protection worker for a Delegated Aboriginal Agency and therefore have a solid understanding of child welfare matters and how it pertains to Aboriginal people. Parenting is very challenging and when Mom and Dad live apart, it can be more challenging, as you both may have different ideas when it comes to raising your children. My experience has taught me that all parenting ideas are worthy of a discussion, providing the children remain safe and healthy. I offer a convenient downtown Kamloops location and would be proud to bring my work on reserve in First Nations communities.
Welcome! My name is Shirley Selski and I was born in Regina, SK and have lived in Kamloops for almost 30 years. I have been married for over 30 years and have 2 adult daughters who are my pride and joy.

I have a wealth of parenting experience and fully understand the challenges parenting can bring. My professional experience as a child protection social worker has taught me that there are many barriers parents face. Emotions run high when parents separate and mediation has been shown to be very effective. I have extensive experience with many high conflict families and can manage everyone respectfully and with dignity.

Call me at 250-371-7137 or email me at info@kamloopsfamilymediation.ca for more information. I am also available evenings and weekends and can be flexible with scheduling.

Operate on a sliding scale as well. I meet each party for 1/2 hour to hear their expectations and determine if their conflict is appropriate for mediation. There is no cost for this short meeting. Should the parties decide to enter into mediation, each session is two hours or a total cost of $300 that the parties share. More than one session may be needed to resolve all the issues. Parent/teen mediations are also two hours in length and a total cost of $200. Payment is made before each mediation session. Cancelling with less than 24 hours notice will result in a fee of $100 to the party who cancels.
24 hrs notice required or $100.00 fee charged
