I specialize in mediating conflict with business families when maintaining a relationship is at risk and the stakes are high. That often involves estate, elder and business succession matters. When parties are best served by co-mediators, I work with my business partner, John Radford, to help parties achieve satisfying and sustainable solutions.
I have mediated conflicts between couples and family members for almost thirty years. In the last 15 years I have also mediated conflicts in business families, business partnerships, work-place settings, executive boards and faith communities in times of transition. Rather than focusing on peripheral conflict, I help each party address the core conflict that separates them, so that the mediating process is efficient with practical and realistic outcomes. When desired, I assist parties in moving beyond resolving conflict to restoring relationship by facilitating a reconciliation and trust building process. I am also an associate faculty member in the MA Conflict Analysis and Management program at Royal Roads University and currently teach a course in advanced conflict skills.
