Kamaljit Kaur Lehal is a lawyer and has been operating her own law irm, Lehal Law Corporation (formerly Lehal & Company) in Delta, British Columbia since 1992. She was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1990. Her areas of practice are: immigration, administrative and personal injury law. As well, Kamaljit is a designated mediator and is on the BC Civil Roster of Mediators. She received training in mediation through the Harvard Law School, Program on Negotiation. She also offers co-mediation services. She is accredited by the Law Society to mediate family law matters. She was a member of the Civil Resolution Tribunal from 2015 to 2019.

In the area of immigration law she has represented women, successfully, on gender persecution grounds. She is on the roster for Legal Services Society, Immigration Duty Counsel, and has represented clients in that capacity. Since 1996 she has been a director of the Board of OPTIONS Community Services, a not for profit organization that supports families and community health. She was a member and alternative chair for the British Columbia Review Board from 1998 to 2010. She is a member of the Community Coordination for Women's Safety, a committee of EVA BC (The Ending Violence Association of BC). She was a supervising lawyer for EVA on a Law Foundation project pertaining to domestic violence and immigrant women. In addition, Kamaljit was involved with I.C.W.O (the Indo-Canadian Women's Organization), in which she participated in various committees.

Aside from her work and social commitment, Kamaljit is busy with her husband raising four children.
