Civil Roster Mediator Details

2008
I am a dual citizen (Canadian/US) and I am qualified to mediate in Washington State as well as in BC. I am prepared to mediate cross-border issues, including immigration, border protection and customs.
I am a retired member of the Law Society of BC. During my law practice years, where I specialized in Municipal/Administrative Law and handled many zoning and land development cases as well as a general civil litigation practice, I became increasingly frustrated with the delay and expense involved in litigation. Where possible, I strove to assist clients to resolve their issues through negotiation and creative problem solving short of litigation. I feel even more strongly about this today and wholeheartedly embrace the concept of mediation. I am trained in interest-based mediation; however, my experience has taught me that a more directive approach is sometimes effective. I am comfortable with both methods and, in consultation with the parties, will employ a format that will best suit their needs and wishes.

I am also a certified mediator-practitioner in Whatcom and Skagitt Counties, WA,USA and am prepared to mediate in Washington State.
