Since my call to the Bar in 1992 I have practiced law in areas ranging from personal injury, insurance, medical malpractice, general commercial litigation, wills and estates and family law. My focus throughout has been the efficient and effective resolution of the conflict at hand in ways that promote the health and well being of the parties in dispute, and maintain working relationships where possible. I take a practical approach to resolution, helping parties rise above the details to see issues from a broader perspective. For 20 years I negotiated, settled claims and resolved disputes for my clients, both plaintiffs and defendants, through a wide range of methods that included both formal litigation mechanisms and conflict resolution tools. In 2005, my career long commitment to alternative means of resolving disputes led me to the formal study of conflict resolution and mediation training, since which I have mediated diverse areas of conflict.

In addition to maintaining my private mediation practice, I have broadened my legal experience through two key managerial roles. As Roster Manager for Mediate BC, I appointed mediators throughout the province under the Notice to Mediate program, oversaw the administration of the Civil and Family Rosters, and collaborated with the Executive Director and other Managers on Mediate BC initiatives towards training, education and the promotion of mediation throughout B.C.

As the Manager of Governance and Board Relations with the Law Society of BC, I worked closely with the Executive Director and the President, managing the administration of Law Society governance processes, including Bencher Agendas of business, elections and appointments.
