Mediating disputes involving mentally challenged individuals with advocate support.
Mediation Consultation, Pro Bono, Speaker's Bureaus
The foundation of my mediation practice comes from 20 years of counselling. I have a Masters degree in Conflict Resolution and Mediation, and teach conflict resolution courses for The Justice Institute of B.C. and Vancouver Island University. My practice tends to focus on conflicts in the following areas: workplace (government, schools, medical offices), non-profit organizations, First Nations groups, family, and religious organizations. A guiding principle for my mediation style is the belief that individuals have self-determination. This means that the people with the conflicts are the experts in the solution. As a mediator, my role is to facilitate communication so parties can reach a mutually agreeable resolution.
