I joined the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia (ICBC) in 1991, where I practiced for a number of years as litigation counsel. I then took an administrative position with ICBC Special Counsel Department, in which I was mainly responsible for managing the relationship between ICBC claims representatives and the 120 law firms throughout British Columbia retained to defend actions against the company and its insureds.
During my twelve years with ICBC Special Counsel Department, I resolved numerous concerns about counsel performance, results and legal accounts, which required substantial tact, diplomacy and respect for confidentiality.
Prior to my employment with ICBC, I spent time in the area of plaintiff's personal injury, which provided me with perspective from the other side of the insurance/personal injury equation.
Prior to my admission to the British Columbia Bar, I owned and managed an art gallery, managed a restaurant for a large Canadian chain, sold newspaper and magazine advertising and held various positions in national advertising agencies.
All of my working career has been spent dealing with people; initially in the sales and service industries and more recently in the practice of law and as a legal administrator, all of which has proven invaluable to me in my present career as mediator.

If cancelled within seven days of mediation date, a three hour fee will be charged. If cancelled prior to seven days before mediation date, no cancellation fee will be charged. If a cancelled mediation is re-booked, any cancellation fee charged will be credited to that re-booked mediation.
