Mediate BC Blog

Reviewers Wanted!

Posted by mbcstaff

There is so much new content on conflict resolution and related topics that it’s impossible for any one person to keep up. So let’s help each other by sharing reviews of the content we are consuming!

Are you interested in reviewing new conflict resolution content for the Mediate BC community?

Your time reviewing content can count towards your annual CPD hours! Roster mediators are required to complete 12 hours of continuing professional development each year. Up to five of those hours can be completed through unstructured learning: that can include listening to podcasts, reading new dispute resolution literature, and reviewing that content. (Reviewing dispute resolution literature for the Mediate BC website may also count towards CPD for other professions).

Email us at mediators@mediatebc.com if you’re interested in blogging or vlogging about new content.

What should a review look like?

Review format can vary to suit the subject matter. It can be a blog post or a vlog post. What we’d like to see included is information that will help colleagues identify materials they should read, listen to, or watch.

Do we have some review topics in mind?

As a matter of fact…  We have started a list of conflict resolution related content that we think would benefit from a practitioner’s review. Check out the list here.

Can I suggest materials to review?

Please do. Whether you bring a suggestion for material you’d like to review yourself, or send us a note about an article you think we should include in our list, we encourage you to help us identify the information that is most relevant to our community.

Can I ask for a review copy of a new book if I’m going to review it for Mediate BC?

Publishers will have varying policies on whether they will provide a review copy. Please confirm with the publisher directly if they provide copies for this kind of review.
