Online Wine Tasting and Community

Posted by Anonymous (not verified)

As we come to the end of a year full of change and uncertainty, one constant is the support and camaraderie of the Mediate BC community. Join us online on December 9th for a toast to our community!

Our Hosts:

Sean Nelson – the Somm Wine Guy – is one of the most highly acclaimed sommeliers in British Columbia. In 2016, he was the youngest person in Western Canada to pass the Advanced Sommelier Examination and in 2018, he was crowned BC Sommelier of the Year by the Canadian Association of Professional Sommeliers. Sean has a deep passion and love for wine in all of its varieties and vintages; with this enthusiasm, in combination with over a decade and a half of experience in the hospitality industry, he is looking forward to making our tasting a “grape” success!

Lori Charvat is a Mediate BC roster mediator and past Board Chair. When not mediating or coaching, Lori finds a creative outlet in the kitchen, cooking without a recipe. Wine is another passion. Lori completed the Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) Level Two Certification in wine and continues to develop her knowledge of wine as both art and craft. Lori’s favourite varietals of late are Syrah and Viognier (the “Rhone grapes”), but she also loves a big California Zinfandel when the weather turns cold. Of course, BC Wines are always in Lori’s cellar. If you join us for the wine tasting, Lori will share her current BC favourites and more.

The Wines:

Sean has selected four wines for our wine tasting that are excellent value for the holiday season, and readily available throughout BC. Pick up one, or several to taste along with Sean and Lori. Or, come for the community with a beverage of your choice, no alcohol required!
