Seeking expressions of interest to serve on Mediate BC’s Board of Directors

Posted by Ann.Lee

Mediate BC is seeking at least two new volunteers to join its Board of Directors in 2021.  Applicants do not need to be mediators or arbitrators.

Mediate BC’s vision is a civil society where mediation and other collaborative dispute resolution processes are trusted and widely accessed. We advance this vision through management of rosters of trusted and qualified dispute resolution professionals, public education, and projects supporting access to justice through ensuring access to collaborative dispute resolution processes. We are seeking Board members with a strong interest in the expansion of collaborative dispute resolution processes in BC.

We are looking for energetic individuals who bring skills and knowledge in Fundraising, Governance, and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion work. Current projects focus on non-profit societies, non-profit housing, and Indigenous dispute resolution practices. Knowledge and experience in these areas would be valuable.

Time commitment varies as board members will participate in at least one Committee or Working Group.

Mediate BC is committed to recruiting a diverse Board of Directors that represents the province we serve. We encourage expressions of interest from individuals with diverse backgrounds, including Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour, LGBTQ2S+ individuals, all genders, nationalities, and persons with disabilities. By embracing diversity, we gain strength through our people and our perspectives.  We are also open to applications from qualified individuals between 16 and 18.  Board members may be located anywhere in BC; however, individuals living in rural and remote areas are particularly encouraged to apply.

If you would like to be considered for a position on Mediate BC’s Board of Directors or would like more information, please send your expression of interest or query to Daniel Williams.
