Civil Roster Mediator Details

1997
Mediation and facilitation of difficult conversations are part of my suite of services that I provide as a workplace consultant - in building a better workplace. I also coach leaders and teams and facilitate group dialogue and learning sessions around values and culture. Finally, I offer customized training services to clients on topics such as "building effective team," "creating collaborative workplaces," and "adaptive leadership."
I earned a Juris Doctor (J.D.) in the United States before immigrating to Canada in 2000. Seeking a deeper grounding in alternative dispute resolution, particularly in the context of workplace conflict, I took up the study of law again, this time at the University of British Columbia. I completed my Masters of Law (LL.M.) in 2002 and since this time have dedicated myself to building a better workplace through the promotion of dialogue, fair process, and organizational learning.

As a mediator, I seek to empower the parties to own their piece of the mediation process and take an active role in finding a meaningful and sustainable solution to the conflict they are facing.

In addition to my work as a mediator and facilitator, I am a Certified Executive Coach and a Prosci certified change management practitioner. I work with leaders and teams to effect positive change in teams and organizations through human resources strategies, targeted skill development, conflict coaching and change management coaching.

I have extensive experience in health care, post-secondary education, and the regulated professions (e.g., physicians and nurses). Additionally, I am very knowledgeable of human rights laws and other regulations that ensure the harassment-free and psychologically safe workplace.
